Looking out the window on Thanskgiving day while on the phone and I had to cut the call short! I saw this RedShouldered Hawk near the front of the lot. It was flying a few inches above the ground chasing something that I could not see. This was a large specimen. I first thought it was an owl. I've seen a similar bird in the same spot at night doing the same thing - flying low to the ground, only that time it was perfoming very erratic manevers. It may have even been the same bird. UPDATE: Got a much better picture 12/2/11- I saw him in the backyard and he flew to the front and was eyeing the birds around the bird feeder.
