Today we saw 17 deer, two hogs and a turkey vulture while bike riding. This has been the week for spiders, they are everywhere. I couldn't even go out the front door Fri there was a big one in the way.
Lost a cat to some animal, maybe a dog, that left serious wounds in both rear legs. A neighbor had a puppy come home with holes pecked all over it, but it survived.

Native Yarrow
This looks like fern, and was very unexpectedly growing by BD's driveway It's only a few inches tall. I only happened to notice it when I hung my coat on a tree while walking down the road. Even BD didn't know it was there! Doug pointed out that it's native yarrow. I updated the picture now that it survived all winter (down to the low 20's) and yet it stayed green the whole time and has now bloomed. Later I found a whole group of two foot tall blooming specimans across the road and down a lot. Today I saw two more "bunches" of it on Spears Ranch. It's amazing what gros and you never see unless you look!
