Two weeks ago I noticed some birds in the top of a tree and got my camera out. It was overcast and hard to see but they turned out to be cedar waxwings - I saw them in different trees in the backyard on both days that weekend.

One recent Friday my wife and her friends were quilling and they saw an albino bird - not sure which species.

Tonight as we drove home around 8pm tonite we saw a large brown owl darting through the trees chasing a rabbit or something - luckily it was not one of our feral cats. It was pertty amazing to see this large animal making rather quick, abrupt flight changes - all a few feet off the ground in fairly dense trees and in otherwise darkness, except for out headlights.

Lots of skunks in the last two weeks, too. We could smell 'em several times and see a lot of road kill. I guess it happens every year...
