Lots of tall grass from recent rains, maybe the tallest I remember seeing.

This flower started growing in a pile of rocks.

It is the only one I've found like it though it is similarly colored to the flower below which is popping up everywhere on the roadsides and even in the middle of fields. In the heat of the day the flowers close up, but if you look close when the flowers open, there are spots inside

Another very prevalant flower is morning glory. It's growing up on fences and around posts all over the area, but I've yet to see one in the ranch. This is a corn field that got taken over by it.

This flower was around in the spring but really took off this fall

This yellow prickly flower is not everywhere but there are a few pretty good-sized patches of it

Found a potter wasp urn of mud today on a branch. Never seen one before. A very skilled insect!
