Birds, Butterflies

This "bird" is natural (except for a piece of baling wire) and announces to vistors that I'm, well, "birdy". I think of it as a pheasant. I'd like to keep a few here if they would stay around!

Last week there were hundreds of small butterflies in the tall grass in this one sheltered spot, out of the wind. I missed that opportunity, but today they were back in a different place - but not easily photographable. Most were like the American Snout below, but also some bright yellow Sulphurs, and a very few large pumpkin-colored ones that flew very fast.

Below belongs to the  Skipper family but the exact subfamily eludes me - there are a bunch of very similar butterfies...

Here's a cove of trees surrounding me. I can stare forever in it.
